30/04/2014: There are unconfirmed reports that Jon Heisman and Barbara Thompson will perform as part of Colosseum for a series of German concerts towards the end of this year.

30/04/2014: Marillion announce initial details of 2015 Weekend Conventions. Prog Mag reveal that the band will play Anoraknophobia & Marbles albums in full at Wolverhampton Civic and a “similar bill will be performed at CenterParcs, Port Zelande, Holland on March 20-22 and at L’Olympia, Montreal, Canada on April 24-26”.

29/04/2014: Australian progressive metal quintet, Voyager, will release its fifth studio album, V, in North America on June 3 with distribution through Nightmare Records. Read the full article HERE at TPA
29/04/2014: 10T Records announce a new release from FARPOINT, entitled Paint The Dark, on 6th May 2014 and with a “street date” of 17th June 2014.
“Paint the Dark features Dean Hallal on vocals, Kevin Jarvis on guitars, keyboards, mandolin, and vocals, Abby Thompson on vocals and piano, Frank Tyson on basses, guitars, and vocals, and Rick Walker on drums and percussion. Special guests include Christi Hunter Brownlow on violin and Jennifer Meeks Weich on flute.”

29/04/2014: Haken have confirmed that Conner Green will be their permanent bassist, replacing Tom MacLean who left last year. You can read the TPA report of Tom’s departure HERE.
28/04/2014: The long-running battle that resulted in two versions of Queensryche has been resolved. In a joint statement on Sunday evening: “We wanted to let Queensryche fans around the world know that an amicable settlement has been reached between Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield, Michael Wilton and Geoff Tate with regard to the future of the Queensryche name.” Read the full article from The Seattle Times – HERE.
26/04/2014: To mark their fortieth anniversary Japan’s progressive jazz rock ensemble Kenso are to release a new album. No details are available at this moment in time, however indications are that the release date will be mid to late June.

24/04/2014: InsideOut Music have announced that three of their bands will join forces for a UK & Irish tour later this year. Haken, Leprous & Maschine will undertake a series of gigs during October & November 2014. Read the TPA report HERE.
23/04/2014: Following the phenomenal response to the recent Back to Front tour dates, the recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Peter Gabriel, has confirmed a further series of Back to Front arena shows in the UK and Ireland. 22/04/2014: Pendragon reveal Craig Blundell as their new drummer. Noted drum clinician and session musician who in more recent times has performed with Frost*.
21/04/2014: Prog Mag premiere The Enid’s Witch Hunt video “…taken from 2012 album Invicta, the symphonic prog outfit’s first album with acclaimed young frontman Joe Payne – who’s also the first person to take the role since the earliest days of Robert John Godfrey’s brainchild”.

18/04/2014: Rolling Stone report that The Who will release Quadrophenia: Live In London on 10th June 2014:
“The Who celebrated the 40th anniversary of their 1973 rock opera Quadrophenia by playing the double record in its entirety all over the world, and now they are issuing a concert film of their performance from that tour at London’s Wembley Arena in 2013. Quadrophenia: Live in London, out June 10th, contains all 17 tracks on the album as well as a six-song set of some of the rockers’ greatest hits, including “Who Are You” and “Pinball Wizard.” The film also comes in Blu-ray, standard DVD and video download formats, as well as a deluxe edition. The group is also releasing a 5.1 Surround Sound mix of the original 1973 release in Blu-ray Pure Audio to coincide with the release.” Read Rolling Stone’s full article HERE.
17/04/2014: Uriah Heep reveal details of their latest studio album, Outsider, and the follow-up to Into The Wild (2011). Outsider will be released through Frontiers Records on 6th June (Europe), 9th June (UK) and 10th June (USA).
16/04/2014: Chris Wade and friends, under the guise of Dodson And Fogg, announce the release of a new album After The Fall. Guests for this album include Scarlet Rivera (Bob Dylan’s Desire album and solo), Celia Humphris (Trees) and Alison O’Donnell (Mellow Candle). Read the TPA report HERE.
16/04/2014: Tim Bowness and Henry Fool have announced two UK gigs in July where they will be performing material by no-man, Henry Fool and some songs from Tim Bowness’ forthcoming studio album, Abandoned Dancehall Dreams. The two concerts will also host an impressive supporting cast with appearances from Matt Stevens and Nosound’s Giancarlo Erra. Read the TPA news HERE.

12/04/2014: Fish reveals his new video for Blind To The Beautiful created by David Barras. Fish made the following comment on his Facebook page:
“Greenpeace approved the sentiment and thrust of the song and gave us a stock of footage that we couldn’t ignore and are eternally grateful for as it fitted the bill perfectly and gave the video so much presence and kudos. Please share this around to as many people as possible not only because it’s a single but because it is a message that we all should hear! it’s not a current pop song, it won’t be on X factor, it’s unlikely to be heard on mainstream radio but I believe it’s a song of our time now! Spread it around and wake up the voices.”
12/04/2014: Alan Reed announces stripped-down versions of Twelfth Night’s Love Song. The three tracks are available as FREE downloads at Alan’s Bandcamp Page. However we are all urged to pay ‘as much as we can afford’, as all monies raised will be donated to the Cancer charities supported by the Trinity concert organisation.
11/04/2014: Earthling Society announce a late June release date for their next album England Have My Bones.
Riot Season record label reveals: “The album features four songs, including a majestic cover of Alice Coltrane’s ‘Journey In Satchidananda’ and is a bit of a musical departure for the label i guess. It’s a lot less noisy/in your face than recent releases, it has more of a psych/space rock feel. I think the Acid Mothers fans will certainly love it. The album will be available on vinyl and download. I may knock out a few tapes too…”
11/04/2014: Gong have revealed their latest studio album, I See You, will be released through Madfish on 1st September 2014. Following this the band will embark on an extensive European tour during October and November. Read TPA’s report HERE.

10/04/2014: Peter Gabriel accepted his award and induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on 10th April. He was presented with his award by Coldplay’s Chris Martin. Read TPA’s report HERE.

08/04/2014: Opeth announce the release of their eleventh studio album, Pale Communion, which is scheduled for release 17 June 2014.
“Pale Communion, which was produced by bandleader Mikael Akerfeldt and mixed by long time collaborator and Porcupine Tree frontman/guitarist Steven Wilson, will be heralded by the lead single, Cusp of Eternity.”

03/04/2014: Marillion’s Steve Hogarth has announced the release of the first volume of his tour memoirs entitled “The Invisible Man: Diaries 1991-1997”. The limited hard back edition is scheduled for publication on 21st June 2014. Part two will be available around Christmas time.
“I have definite plans to make an audio-book version of the diaries but I have been shocked at how long it takes me to read and record these, so the audio release should follow, hopefully in 2015.”

01/04/2014: Portsmouth based keyboards man Robin Armstrong reveals details of Cosmograf‘s forthcoming studio album which features guest appearances from Nick D’Virgilio, Colin Edwin, Nick Beggs, Andy Tillison, and Matt Stevens. Capacitor is said to be a concept album and “seeded with a ghostly perspective”. Cosmograf are scheduled to play at this year’s Celebr8.3 Festival (31 May & 1 June) and will perform tracks from the new album ahead of its’ June release. The live band for Celebr8.3 will be Luke Machin, Lee Abraham, Steve Dunn, Kyle Fenton and Robin Armstrong.
01/04/2014: John Wesley is set to release his brand new studio album ‘Disconnect’ on the 31st March 2014…
John had this to say about the track: “Mary Will”, is a metaphor about the desire for redemption, one that could fit into any of our lives. It is the story of a man who carries a secret so dark he feels there is no coming back from it. When all around him have turned away, his only hope for forgiveness comes from a statue of Mother Mary hidden away in a garden of roses….”
