15/01/19: RPWL Set To Release Tales From Outer Space Along With European Tour
RPWL will release their ninth studio album Tales From Outer Space on the 22nd March 2019. Unlike previous releases, the new album will have a science fiction focus. Singer and keyboardist Yogi Lang explains: “This time it didn’t turn out to be a concept album in the true sense. But there are seven short stories about science fiction. For us it was not only thematically very interesting, but also musically an unbelievable playground, which literally invited us to experiment with sounds and all imaginable musical stylistic devices“.
The band comprise Yogi Lang on vocals & keyboards, Kalle Wallner on guitar & bass, Markus Jehle on keyboards and Marc Turiaux on drums.

11/01/19: Dream Theater to Release 14th Studio Album Distance Over Time with Supporting Tour
Dream Theater have announced the release of their 14th studio album Distance Over Time. The album is their first with new label InsideOutMusic and follows on from The Astonishing which was released three years ago.
John Petrucci believes the album represents a new spirit of creativity and adventure for the band. “When I listen back to the album, I can distinctly recall every moment of the writing process; where I was standing in the room, what inspired us in that instant and the meaning behind each song. As a producer, my goal was to try and create the best-sounding Dream Theater record we’ve ever made so that listeners can just be enveloped in the music. I really wanted this recording to truly reflect the spirit, joy and passion that went into making the album and for people to walk away feeling some of the organic nature, personality and raw energy that the band captured while together in the studio. For me, I think it accomplishes that and I hope that other people will feel the same way.”
An extensive US tour along with dates in Europe have also been confirmed.

The Killing Fields is a 1984 British biographical drama film about the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia, which is based on the experiences of two journalists: Cambodian Dith Pran and American Sydney Schanberg. Directed by Roland Joffé, produced by David Puttnam and the musical score was written by Mike Oldfield and orchestrated by David Bedford.

Oldfield spent six months working on the score for “The Killing Fields” before going on tour, but when Oldfield returned, the producers of the film asked for more music to be written, prompting Oldfield to ask for the use of an orchestra and a choir; three months later the score was finished.
This deluxe box set brings together both the soundtrack CD and the film DVD for the first time, along with reproduction memorabilia from the film and a numbered certificate.
