31/08/15: Arjen Lucassen guests on a new Soul Enema album
Soul Enema, currently working on new album Of Clans and Clones and Clowns, have confirmed that Arjen Anthony Lucassen will guest on the track Eternal Child:-
“It’s safe to say, that for a good couple of decades Arjen continues to be a never ending source of inspiration – a creative mastermind and a visionary of his own league, a tasty and emotive guitar player, a humble and friendly person. Growing up with all those soon-to-become-classic Ayreon albums in a cd player, it was something on a verge of impossible even to imagine, that on one of those future days you will happen to be in a honorable position, when a big man himself finds his magic ways on your own musical journey.
There is just no vocabulary to contain a ‘thank you’ of a really appropriate degree to express the feeling…his performance is truly one of those moments of otherworldly beauty, so precious each time when it manages to be transcended onto the tape. Looking forward to that moment, when we can share it with each of you!”
27/08/15: Kscope to release Anathema’s Liverpool Cathedral concert
“During 2014 & 15 the band toured the world extensively to promote Distant Satellites both as a full band and also with a stripped down acoustic show. It was the band’s performance at a one-off show at Gloucester Cathedral in 2014 that opened up a new chapter, giving them an opportunity to set the music in an ornate, beautiful environment. In March 2015 the band played an acoustic tour of Cathedrals in the UK that culminated in a sold out show in the impressive Liverpool Cathedral, the band’s hometown.”

06/08/15: Moon Safari announce break with drummer Tobias Lundgren
As some out there probably figured, we’ve been absent for a reason. And today we must announce that after a period of ups and downs for the group, Moon Safari breaks with drummer Tobias Lundgren. To claim the split was amicable would be lying. Everyone wishes this process would have been easier, more grown up and more to the point, but breakups are seldom without complications. And this one was no exception. This is sad for us in many ways. But, regardless of the last couple of months negativity we sincerely treasure the memories of the musical journey we’ve taken together.
It’s often times great to be in a band, but sometimes, like now, it’s hard. We all try our best, but the will to push forward in dreamland creates a lot of tension in contrast to the natural pull of real life, and things break. They did for us anyway.
We’ll be back with more news when there is some, but right now the band would just like to thank him for everything and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavours, musical or otherwise.
No replacement to be announced at this point but all band commitments are still a go.

Marking the band’s first live performances since their highly successful 2010 European tour, the “Supertramp Forever” concerts were to have offered audiences a historic evening featuring the band’s classic music. The tour was set to kick off November 3rd in Porto, Portugal and continue throughout 25 European cities, culminating in the final December 11th sold out show in the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Holland.

03/08/15: Rob Reed begins work on Sanctuary II
Magenta’s Rob Reed, who indicated on his Facebook page last month that the sequel to Sanctuary was on the cards, today exclusively reveals to Prog that work has begun on the follow-up album.
Reed tells Prog: “At the moment the album has two long pieces and I have a few ideas for some shorter tracks. I’ve really gone off the idea of long albums at the moment – especially as the music is quite dense.
“I’ve been writing and demoing for a few months and finally I got enough of a structure to start recording properly. But the way I work means it’s yet to be seen how much will survive. I really like every second to count. If something’s not working I’ll erase it.”
He’s also planning to perform Sanctuary live in the coming months, and he’s had the music scored to assist a 10-piece band in performing it. “Working out how to recreate it live is a nightmare,” he admits. “Obviously, I can’t play it all myself so I have to put together a live band.
“I’m just getting dates and venues sorted. It’s exciting – I really enjoyed making the album and the reaction was really positive.”
Meanwhile, Reed is finalising a list of guests to appear on his next work, which he expects to release early next year. “I should be able to announce them in the coming weeks,” he says.
03/08/15: TesseracT launch first track from their new album Polaris
Ahead of the release of the brand new studio album ‘Polaris’ from the U.K.’s premier progressive act TesseracT, the band are giving fans worldwide a chance to hear a new album track “Messenger”. Details and track listing can be found HERE on TPA.
Vocalist Dan Tompkins comments on the track “The concept of our new album, Polaris is simple; it is about the transient nature of universal truth. There is no such thing as an absolute fixed human concept that will forever be the truth. Perhaps that is a message most of us can’t or don’t want to listen to but Messenger highlights an ever growing awakening from the onslaught of the social conditioning we’re exposed to everyday from the media. The truth constantly obscured and the public subdued by ‘Casting fear into doubt’”

Iceland’s Agent Fresco’s new studio album, entitled Destrier, will be released on 7th August 2015 via Record Records in Iceland and Long Branch Records/SPV worldwide. By way of a second taster the band recently released a new video for the track Wait For Me.
Agent Fresco’s music is a reflection of this ever-changing landscape, with its overwhelming sense of freedom and vastness. This is a progressive Art Rock band that needs to be experienced from a few steps back to be grasped in its entirety, like a bold work of art. In the last couple of years, their iridescent, propulsive, arty and highly addictive music made the highly esteemed Reykjavik band – comprised of Arnór Dan, Þórarinn Guðnason, Hrafnkell Örn Guðjónsson and Vignir Rafn Hilmarsson – become the favourite of a music-loving nation and an act sparking international interest.
