29/06/14: Summer’s End festival announce that Magenta will make their fourth appearance at this year’s event which takes place at The Palmer Centre, Chepstow between 26-28 September 2014. 27/06/14: Today sees the 23rd studio album release from Canadian progressive rockers Saga. Sagacity is available in Standard Edition, Special Edition including bonus live CD, Vinyl and Download through earMusic today, 27th June 2014. Read the TPA article HERE.

27/06/14: Peter Gabriel adds new UK show to the November/December leg of the Back To Front Tour 2014. The show on Thursday 4th December at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena…

27/06/14: Amazon announce a late October release date for a new paperback biography of Robert Wyatt under the title – Different Every Time: The Authorised Biography of Robert Wyatt.

27/06/14: UK progressive metallers TesseracT announce that Daniel Tompkins has re-joined as full time vocalist and that Ashe O’Hara has departed amicably. Visit the band’s website HERE for the full update.

26/06/14: Jeff Beck has been forced to cancel his forthcoming European dates:

“It is with the greatest regret that Jeff Beck has been forced to cancel the forthcoming European dates of his worldwide tour, set to begin in Austria on June 27.

“Following many months of international touring and after seeking emergency medical attention, Jeff will now undertake a short hospital procedure, and his doctors have instructed a complete break from performance for a total of six weeks. Following the treatment, Jeff will fulfill his U.S. tour commitments beginning in Missoula, Montana, on August 8.

“He sends his profound apologies to those fans who had bought tickets for the European concerts and very much looks forward to playing for his American audiences after he has completed his treatment.”

25/06/14: Christian Vander’s Seventh Records release a 2CD+DVD box-set from side project Offering. The concerts were recorded at Le Triton (France) between 4th & 6th July 2013 to mark the 30th anniversary of the band’s first appearance. Continue reading TPA’s article HERE .

23/06/14: InsideOut Music have revealed that Steve Rothery will release a live CD/DVD ahead of his new solo album The Ghosts Of Pripyat. The new CD/DVD set entitled Live In Rome will be out on the 25th August 2014 and features tracks from the new studio album. Track listing and artwork can be seen HERE

22/06/14: Henry Cow, Music For Films, News From Babel and Oh Moscow have revealed two special and unique UK shows this November to mark the passing of Lyndsay Cooper. Dates and further info can be found HERE.

22/06/14: In response to the recent announcement that the BBC was to screen a feature length documentary featuring the original line-up of Genesis, Anthony Phillips undertakes s a rare interview with The Telegraph. The full Telegraph article can be read HERE.

21/06/14: The third film from the “Romantic Warriors – A Progressive Music Saga” documentary team of Adele Schmidt and José Zegarra is well under way. The Romantic Warriors III – Canterbury Tales scheduled for release in January 2015. More information can be found HERE in TPA’s report

20/06/14: Eagle Rock will release Peter Gabriel’s latest DVD Back To Front on Monday 23rd June in the UK. Tuesday in America and other dates during the week for different countries. Continue reading the TPA article HERE.

19/06/14: InsideOut Muisc premiere a track from their forthcoming The Unravelling album, scheduled for release on 22nd July 2014. Listen to Destroy The World We Love

17/06/14: To mark the fortieth anniversary Virgin Records and Queen are to release the “long-lost live album”, originally intended for release in 1974. Newly mixed and mastered, Queen: Live At The Rainbow ’74, will released in several formats on 8th September 2014. Read TPA’s report HERE.

17/06/14: John Martyn’s London Conversation (1967), Fairport Convention’s Liege & Lief (1969), Sandy Denny’s The North Star Grassman And The Ravens (1971) and Richard & Linda Thompson’s I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight (1974) are all scheduled for release next month (21st July). Universal Music Catalogue will release all four Island Records original albums, with original artwork on 180gm vinyl – all have been mastered from the original analogue tapes by Paschal Byrne.

16/06/14: The Radio Times reveal that the BBC will screen a feature length documentary with Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford – under a working title: Genesis: Together and Apart… More info HERE on TPA.

16/06/14: The slightly delayed Landmarq two disc Origins – A Landmarq Anthology album is released today through Cherry Red Records. Disc one The Tracy Years features a mix of studio and live recordings from Landmarq and includes a previously unreleased track, Origins, by Mike Varty. Disc two The Damian Years features tracks from Landmarq’s first three studio albums featuring vocalist Damian Wilson (Threshold).

14/06/14: Cuneiform Records reveal their eight album release schedule for this summer including albums from Led Bib, Ideal Bread, The Microscopic Septet, Joel Harrison; Mats/Morgan Band, Richard Pinhas (in duos with Yoshida Tatsuya) and Oren Ambarchi.

12/06/14: Frontiers Records reveal Asia’s 2010 High Voltage Festival performance will be released on DVD this August. Featuring John Wetton, Steve Howe, Geoff Downes and Carl Palmer, the DVD will include every track from their 1982 self-titled debut album.

12/06/14: Tin Spirits reveal the follow-up to their well received 2011 Wired To Earth album. The new release will be through the Esoteric Antenna label on 15th September and will be preceded by the Summer Now single towards the end of July. Read the TPA article HERE.

10/06/14: Eagle Rock Entertainment announce the release of Ian Anderson’s Thick As A Brick – Live In Iceland in 2CD, DVD, SD Blu-ray and digital formats – scheduled for release 25th August 2014. The concert, filmed at Reykjavik’s Harpa Concert Hall in June 2012, featured the original 1972 Jethro Tull Thick As A Brick album along with Thick As A Brick 2: Whatever Happened To Gerald Bostock? 10/06/14: Multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Rob Reed (Magenta & the Kompendium Project) is set to release his new solo album on 21st July 2014. Sanctuary is co-produced by Tubular Bells producer Tom Newman and mastered by Tubular Bells producer Simon Hayworth. Read the TPA press release HERE.

09/06/14: Marco Minnemann will release his latest studio album EEPS on 9th July 2014. Marco played all the instruments on this recording which is produced by Scott Schorr and Marco Minnemann for Lazy Bones Recordings. Read the TPA article HERE.

07/06/14: Chris Wade makes the latest Dodson And Fogg album downloadable via Youtube.

In April we reported that “acclaimed folk rock music project” Dodson And Fogg had released their fifth studio album, After The Fall featuring Celia Humphris, Alison O’Donnell, Scarlet Rivera and Ricky Romain.

05/06/14: The mighty Abel Ganz return a new studio, the follow up to 2008′s well received Shooting Albatross. The simply titled Abel Ganz will be released on 8th July through the band’s own record label. Read the TPA article and list of announced dates thus far HERE.

04/06/14: Guy Manning reveals the track listing for his Akoustik #2 album which is scheduled for release next month on Festival Music. Read more HERE.

03/06/14: Well it is official – King Crimson will tour the US starting in September this year. Read the TPA article and list of announced dates thus far HERE.

03/06/14: Roger Waters previews video. Filmed two years ago in Buenos Aires and during his nine date Wall Concerts, Roger Waters recorded the footage that would become The Child Will Fly video. Read the TPA article HERE.

03/06/14: Touchstone have been forced to cancel their Live Inside Outside DVD launch gigs for June 2014, “due to family circumstances outside of the band’s control”. More info can be found on the Touchstone website.

02/06/14: As reported last month Opeth’s slightly delayed eleventh studio album, Pale Communion, will now be released on 25th August 2014.

02/06/14: DanFest 4, which takes place at Leicester’s The Musicain (14th – 15th November 2014) have confirmed the following bands. Friday: Also Eden, The Room and The Tirith. 02/06/14: It Bites have been forced to pull out of Saturday’s Holmfirth Prog Splash. Due to technical issues and a memory card malfunction John Beck’s entire It Bites catalogue of keyboard programming – some 30 years worth – has been lost. Shortly after this announcement the entire Prog Splash concert has been cancelled…

02/06/14: Dutch progressive rockers Silhouette announce the follow up album to the well received Across The Rubicon (2012). The new studio album, Beyond The Seventh Wave is scheduled for release in November this year. The band have set up a designated micro-site detailing the concepts behind the music on Beyond The Seventh Wave, along with the release of a five minute trailer…

01/06/14: Australian Pink Floyd announce extensive European tour dates for 2015 including a massive twenty two dates in the UK. Kicking off at Belfast’s The Waterfront Hall, then a single show in Eire and continuing through February and March across 22 UK venues. To read TPA’s article please click HERE. 01/06/14: Karnataka have announced that multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Pallagrosi (Dialect, Oxylum, Ksiz) will take over the drumming position on a permanent basis.
