Light My Fire – A Classic Rock Salute To The Doors

Article by:

Light My Fire is a star-studded tribute to The Doors, scheduled for release via Purple Pyramid Records on 24th June. Produced by Billy Sherwood, the album features new versions of classic Doors tracks. The album features guitarists Steve Howe, Todd Rundgren, Steve Morse, Leslie West, Steve Hillage, Larry Coryell, Mick Box, ‘Zoot Horn Rollo’ and more; keyboards from Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Patrick Moraz, Tony Kaye, Geoff Downes, Jordan Rudess, Brian Auger, Ken Hensley and more; and vocals from Ian Gillan, Mark Stein, Jimi Jamison…

Rick Wakeman , Steve Howe and Ian Gillan contribute to Light My Fire, which Rick comments “Light My Fire has always been one of those iconic tracks that keyboard players listen to because of the fact that there are so few tracks with keyboard/organ solos on them compared to our six-stringed buddies. It’s also a solo area that is totally open to interpretation so whatever you do is not comparable to the original, so it was an absolute joy to do.” Source: Broadway World.
